On average, dental universities in Europe have a high acceptance rate of above 50%, meaning that the competition is on the low end.
Dentistry in English abroad can be 5 or 6 years long, depending on the country’s educational system. Both options are viable, with the only difference being the 6th year which is an internship.
In summary, dental education is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The first 2 and a half years cover the theoretical subjects needed to advance into the next stage where you will be working with patients.
International dental students are divided into groups of around 10 people which is beneficial communication- and organisation-wise.

Years 1 - 2
The first 2 years emphasise on pre-clinical studies where dental students gain fundamental knowledge such as Anatomy, Biochemistry, and Physiology.
Years 3 - 5
This period is known as the "clinical years" which focus on the practical side of dentistry. Students gain experience through training in dental clinics and use the technical knowledge they’ve acquired from their pre-clinical years to treat patients.
Year 6 (optional)
Some medical schools teach dentistry for 6 years instead of 5. The 6th year is basically more clinical practice and experience gained from working with patients.
Graduation
Passing the state exam grants you the title of Doctor of Dentistry and the eligibility to practise in the UK and worldwide.
