The admission requirements to study medicine in English in Armenia may or may not include an entrance exam in Biology and Chemistry, depending on the university. In addition, applicants should present a diploma or similar certificate and be fluent in English.

Candidates for undergraduate medical and dental studies may apply twice a year, depending on the admission season. Winter semester applications are accepted until early mid-September, and spring semester applications are accepted from mid-January until early February.

How are medical courses structured

In Armenia, medical studies in English last 6 years and the curriculum is structured as follows: The first 3 years are devoted to preclinical research, then Clinical studies last 3 years and include internships and clinical practise. Graduates of the Program earn the title of "Doctor of Medicine"

Graduate entry medicine in Armenia

Armenia does not offer graduate entry courses at this time. You can either start from year 1 or apply as a transfer student.

The first 2 years are non-clinical years and comprise the following subjects: Anatomy, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry and Physiology.

The next 3 years are the clinical years where you spend more time in the hospitals obtaining practical and first-hand experience in life as a doctor.

In the final year, you will take the state exam in order to acquire your licence to practise. After successful completion of the exam, you will obtain the professional qualification of Doctor of Medicine (MD) and be given a Master’s degree.

The course is GMC recognised and meets the UK/EU criteria throughout its duration. The lecturers have long term experience and you have access to modern facilities assisting your performance in the degree.

Student life in Armenia

In Armenia, most international students prefer to rent shared or private apartments because it is easier and cheaper than living in a dorm. It costs £100 - £150 per month to live in a flat near the university. Utilities, food, and leisure combined can cost you around £200 per month, depending on your spending habits. Overall, it’s safe to say that a budget of around £300 will be enough for international students coming from the UK.
